William Lawrence Thon was a Red Brick College graduate in the 1980s and a self-proclaimed bookworm. As a lover of literature and inspired by his favorite authors, such as Thomas Hardy,
Charles Dickens, Dorothy Sayers, George Elliot, William Falkner and Emily Bronte, he wrote short stories throughout his youth. Within his stories, he weaves a theme of activism for endangered species and bringing environmental awareness to saving our planet. He is an active member of the Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation and several worldwide conservation groups. Thon, being an activist himself, has championed equal rights for women and members of the LGBTQ community and has participated in many gay pride marches.
Thon has spent many trips searching old bookstores of England for historical documents, lost novels, stories of Druids and other pre-Christian groups. Many of these stories show up in The Cottage series, written in a truly creative and thought-provoking way.
Thon has worked for over 30 years in Human Resources and understands the importance of discipline and hard work. When Thon does relax, he thoroughly enjoys writing of course, as well as playing the piano and listening to music. “There is nothing more magical than music,” says Thon. Some of his favorite composers are Puccini, Beethoven, Debussy, Ravel, Holtz, and Mozart. He also loves Pink Floyd, Camel, Shpongle, Ozric Tentacles, Pet Shop Boys, and Dusty Springfield. As you can tell, Thon has a wide range of musical and literary tastes, all of which showcase themselves in The Cottage series!
